Dave Firdaus, CEO
Dave is an experienced managed care CEO. He is passionate in advancing affordable and integrated kidney care coverage to patients with kidney disease/dialysis. In 2019 he co-founded Clever Care Health Plan to serve the underserved ethnic populations. Prior to Clever Care, Dave was the CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield AZ Advantage (2014-2019) and the COO of SCAN Health Plan AZ (2011-2013).
Gregg Kunemund, COO
Prior to joining us, Gregg was the Health Plan CEO of United Healthcare Medicare/Medicaid Health Plan for 14 years. Gregg was in charge of 5 States (AL/AK/GA/MS/TN) serving over 766,000 members. He oversaw a total revenue of $7.2 Billion with 83% of his members in 4+ STAR rated plans. As the Market Executive accountable for achieving profit and loss targets, sales, network development including ACO partnerships, market expansions, Medicare and Medicaid product designs and operations oversight for the Medicare Advantage, Group Retiree, Dual Eligible, Chronic, Part D and Medicare Supplement portfolio of products. His states had an average growth of 14.2% per year & all his markets held the #1 in Medicare Advantage market share.
Tom Biuso, Medical Director, Board Advisor
Dr. Biuso holds a Medical Doctorate from New York Medical College and an MBA from Penn State University. He served as Chief Medical Officer of United Healthcare’s West Region from 2007 to 2021. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at The University of Arizona.
Francisco Leon, Audit & Compliance Officer
Mr. Leon is a solution-oriented and versatile executive with proven success in fast-paced and challenging environments. He has over 20 years of experience in auditing and healthcare compliance including Fraud, Waste and Abuse. Mr. Leon has held various roles in public and private managed care organizations including United Healthcare Group and Anthem.
Gloria Long, Executive Director
Ms. Long has over 35 years of experience in health care policy, program administration and management activities. Ms. Long also has over 14 years of experience as a Managed Care Executive involved with Health Plan management; VP of Operations, (Claims Manager, Director of Plan Operations, Network Management and Provider Relations, PacifiCare Asia Pacific, Director of Provider Services and Contracting, PacifiCare Life & Health).Â
Kirsten Sorensen, RN, VP of Clinical Services
Ms. Sorensen has over 25 years of nursing/clinical operations experience. Prior to joining Gold Kidney, Ms. Sorensen was Senior Director of Care Navigation and Director of Utilization Management, Care Management, and Appeals & Grievances at Fresenius Medical Care North America (2015-2021).
Alex McNab, CIO
Alex McNab is accountable for Information Technology Strategy at Gold Kidney. He brings to this role over 25 years of experience in the areas of health plan IT Operations, deployment and development of high performing solutions and ensuring regulatory compliance. Alex’s experience includes CIO and VP roles in health plans such as MMM of Florida, Solis Health Plans, Preferred Medical plans, Simply Healthcare Plans and Vista Health Plan.
